Anyone ever experience Absence Seizures?

My husband says he just witnessed me having an absence seizure. I honestly had no clue I was “out” at all. It was like suddenly, he was in my face, yelling my name. And I’m just like, “What?”

I looked it up, and it says it’s mainly in children. I’m 28 years old, obviously not a child, so why am I having them? What does this mean?

Does anyone out there experience these? I have a message into my neurologist, but I don’t know much about them other than I just had one. Supposedly.

Any information would be great, thanks.

I trust you have gotten help by now but yes at 67 years of age I have now had 2 of these absence seizures. I was speaking when the second occurred and have it on video. It lasted 1min. 17 seconds and I now know I have very little to no memory for the next half hour. It was thought at first that I had a TIA. CT scan showed a tumour which was the source of the pressure on the brain and subsequent seizure. There are several causes for these seizures so please don’t panic and expect the same results as me. The doctors were all just as surprised as me.
I had to have my license removed temporarily and I really hope I can get it back ASAP.
wishing you all the best. God bless.
