There are many forms of art. Painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, writing, music, dance… the list goes on and on.
Is there anything that isn’t considered art? I know there have been controversial art.
There are more, but these are the extreme. A Minute of Silence isn’t so much controversial as unexpected. Is it art if the artist breaks? I personally love that piece. The rest I do not agree with. I am not ashamed of bodily fluids; I am planning to be a nurse after all. But to use as mediums for art, I do not think works. It shocks. It gets people talking.
What about music? Is rap art? Is singing about hoes and bitches and using other vulgar and derogatory terms art? But on the other side of the coin, is it the artist or the music that’s art when it comes to sex symbols like Ariana Grande?
I personally can’t get into rap. Not because it’s bad, I think it’s a form of poetry set to music. As long as it has meaning to it. My hearing impairment keeps me from hearing the rhythm of rap. I always failed poetry in school. I could never get the iambic pentameter or whatever it was. I never heard it.
Sculpture has many forms. People use junk metal. Clay. Wood. Ice. Is the medium important?
Sorry, I am in an art mood, but my creativity isn’t flowing today. So I decided to write about it. I suppose I did use a form of art, writing. But it’s not art here.
