Between the two of us, my husband and I have enough medical issues for a family of six. After doing some research on how food can affect our health, we decided to go organic. Not only that, but also eating meat that is grass fed instead of cornfed. We started our journey with bison burgers sans bun. I cooked the burgers on my George Foreman Grill, and I think we’ll be using that more often again. It’s more expensive, but our health has no price on it. We want to be as healthy as possible, taking our nutritional vitamins and eating clean.
We didn’t eat completely clean the first night though, as we paired the burgers with a side of sweet potato tater tots. But it was a start! We have to eat the food we already have so it doesn’t go to waste. But we’re getting there. I added spices to the ketchup so it wasn’t boring old ketchup. Just a shake of paprika and a stir with the spoon.
I topped the bison burgers with Saragento’s Ultra-thin Cheddar Cheese slices. It made for a yummy lunch.
Do some research to see if the organic lifestyle is right for you. You’d be amazed at what companies inject these animals with, and the FDA finds this okay? It didn’t jive with us so we did our research to find what the best organic options are out there. Grass-fed beef, chicken with no antibiotics or hormones, plants with no herbcides or pesticides are what’s on our list today.
