i’ve noticed that when my significant other has his EEG studies, he never has any daytime seizures. they catch abnormalities in his sleep, but they are non-epileptic events. somehow and for some reason during the day under monitoring, he fights them off from happening. seriously a couple hrs after the electrodes are taken off and the glue is combed out, seizure. i’ve heard of people that have the complete opposite experience: putting on the EEG gear triggers regular and even increased seizures, which makes their neurologists happy.

Next time he has an EEG, perhaps he should let them happen? The way they determine if it’s non-epileptic or not is by looking at the brain waves. He should get a VEEG (video-monitoring EEG), so they can see when he has them during the day, and look at his EEG. Mine are triggered by stress, so they’re psychogenic seizures rather than “real” seizures. They’re like my panic attacks if you will. I hope you get answers!!
