Honey Butter Ham Recipe for Easter!

Happy Easter to those who celebrate this holiday. Let us be reminded of the meaning of Easter:

“The New Testament teaches that the resurrection of Jesus, which Easter celebrates, is a foundation of the Christian faith. The resurrection established Jesus as the powerful Son of God and is cited as proof that God will judge the world in righteousness. God has given Christians “a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead”. Christians, through faith in the working of God are spiritually resurrected with Jesus so that they may walk in a new way of life.”

Maybe you don’t believe in religion or this particular holiday. That’s okay. Take the time to act upon these meaningful reminders. Don’t let anyone or anything deny you your true self—take this day to remind yourself that a simple, humble man gave himself for no other reason than to prove that we deserved another chance.

And that’s what I want to leave you with. Tomorrow is ALWAYS another a chance.

Honey Butter Ham Recipe For Easter

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 1 hour, 15 minutes

Total Time: 1 hour, 25 minutes

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • whole cloves
  • 3-5 pound half ham, fully cooked

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Melt butter in small microwave-safe bowl. Stir in honey, brown sugar, and mustard until smooth; set aside.

Place ham in roasting pan. Score the top surface of the ham in a diamond pattern, making the cuts about 3/4″ apart. Push a whole clove, point side down, into the center of each diamond in the ham.

Spoon half of the butter mixture over the ham. Roast, uncovered, for 20 minutes, then spoon over the rest of the butter mixture. Roast for another 20 minutes, then baste the ham with the pan drippings.

Roast for another 25-35 minutes, or about 20 minutes per pound, until the ham is hot and glazed. Slice thinly to serve. Serves 6-8
