That question was recently addressed in a webcast/webinar by Shakeology co-creators Darin and Isabelle.
Vitamins and Mineral amounts were shown on the nutrition labels in previous versions of Shakeology (Greenberry and Chocolate), because of the current way customers view their food. Vitamins and minerlas were added / aka the products were fortified. This fortification was on top of all the naturally-occuring vitamins and minerals found in the superfoods and shake ingredients already. So why not just display the content levels of those naturally-occuring vitamins and minerals?
Unfortunately it would take a lot of time and money to isolate the levels present in each various batch of the ingredients. And to make labeling adjustments each time would be impossible. Actually, disclosing mineral and vitamin content of foods was only recently done, as testing began to show the companies manufacturing our food were cutting corners to save money. They were using bad soil, lousy shipping techniques, and storage policies that resulted in once wholesome foods being essentially destroyed from the inside out. What was always considered a nutrient-dense food item was showing less nutrient density after everything that was being done to it.
So in order to prove the food that was being purchased had the good stuff in it that our bodies needed to survive, our government demanded everything be disclosed. In order for people to trust that buying today’s banana would still be good for them, we started forcing companies to put it in writing. Does that make sense?

There’s definitely a movement in America and for sure outside in other parts of the world, to change the way our food is sourced and eaten.
