Pumpkin Spice Protein Smoothie

We make a great fall smoothie now that the weather has turned..

• 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (we like pea protein)
• 1 cup Silk Pumpkin Spice Soy Milk (on shelves now!)
• 1/2 cup canned pumpkin, unsweetened
• 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
• 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
• an ice cube or two

Add all ingredients in blender and combine until smooth. Makes 1 serving.

Pea protein powder?

Pea protein is a protein powder that’s made from peas. Sounds weird right? It’s cool because not only is it veggie, but there’s no cholesterol unlike the more popular whey protein powders. Also, there’s been a ton of news stories over the past year about toxic metals that are finding their way into whey supplements, so you don’t have to worry about that.

    Pea protein powder helped to balance my sugars I have low blood sugar and I have a protein drink every morning. I’ve been hypoglycemic since 1970. Sugar is my enemy. I have tried many protein drinks in the past but none have kept my sugar as balanced. I have been trying to become 100 percent vegetarian, and with my past protein products, that was impossible because my sugar would get so unbalanced and I would have to eat meat protein to get it in check again.I have never felt better.
